365 front tire wheel change
#41

I just looked at the videos I took and it DOES look like there is a glovebox! :-) Not really sure why that makes me happy but it does...

I don't have to change hubs, just wheels and tires. So since I already will have a decent 315 tire/wheel should I keep one to use as a spare for the front and throw it on the root? Not sure how I would tie it down (and I understand about getting it off the roof)... but would the smaller tire (after the change) be ok as a 'donut' spare? Maybe when we get the trailer I would keep a 315/wheel and 22.4 tire ...

Adrian,

You don't have to change hubs, but what about the stud diameter. I could be dead wrong, but I think you have 1 1/8 studs. The new 10.5 wheel will have 7/8 studs. requiring you to replace the studs in the hub. Then the old wheel won't bolt up.

But if the coach already has 7/8 studs then I am wrong.

My 99 has 1 1/8 inch studs.

So can I use the Prevost studs to do this? Is replacing the studs something a 'normal' heavy truck repair place can do?
I won't be going to Miami, OK for a while so would have to source everything and then have it installed. I would much rather keep the old tires/wheels on the coach for a while and then do the conversion but want to make sure we have everything we need to do the job. I'm still learning...

I carry a spare tire (around my waist) but I'm trying to get rid of it.
