Fumoto Valve
#1

I know there has been talk about this valve but cannot find any post.
Would like to know what size thread is the drain plug so I can order a Fumoto Valve.

Thanks
Brad

I've used one since my first oil change. Really works great especially when taking an oil sample. If doing your own oil changes you can drain the oil directly into the jugs.
I'll dig around and see what size I bought.

OK, just checked and it is a T-202

hi brad,

this is a simple question that led me to looking at them. i have one of them on my generator and it is very useful.

i did find that people were leaning towards the femco version for what they claim is better quality and lower profile so you might look at them as well.

i did not find any references as to what size it is.

others refer to this system as something that is very cool. either a permanently mounted version or this portable version. a diesel oil removal pump powered by 12v. it pumps directly into a can or container. the pump itself is 289 retail. OP-6 for another hundred bucks retail you get the portable version with hoses and such as you can see from the link below. i found the one listed below for 280 bucks online. it would do the trnny as well. anyone have any experience with these oil removal pumps?

it does appear that if you go to the femco site, that you can put in what engine you have and they tell you what plug you need. could be there is a similar one for the fumoto.

Looks nice. Fumoto does make a version with a nipple to attach a hose onto but it does extend a bit longer so check clearance.
Anybody using the Femco?

I have the Femco on my Chevrolet diesel. Works as advertised....Makes a real mess if you lose the fitting that screws on to drain and you have to shove a screwdriver up in there to push the valce open! I think the Fumoto works with no other attachements needed.

Yes the Fumoto has a lever that you push up (or down?) into a detent to open.

the fumoto that is on my genny is very easy to use and seals immediately. but it sticks out quite a ways.....

If I were in the market I'd get the Fumoto if there is adequate clearance.
