How tight was the bar on the top of the slide? Mine was loose and only held on by some stainless screws. Newell put in some Rivnuts. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rivet_nut But they did not put in enough. Richard helped me put in about 10 more and now the bar is part of the structure. (He also helped rework the bar to make it beefier).
There is a easy way to get them to grab using two nuts and a correct size bolt.
As long as you have the slide room apart, it will be easy fix if needed.
