Trying to plan a “vintage” Rally 1997 or older
#1

Hello Gurus
I am updating my post 02/20/2022 for the Fall Rally I have been working on.
Location:
Tom Sawyer's RV Park
1286 South 8th Street
West Memphis, AR 72301
just over the I-40 bridge from Memphis, TN
The park is located on the Mississippi River
Dates:
October 3-7,2022
We have 30 stone sites and 15 concrete sites
Price:
$40 for stone sites per night
$50 for concrete sites per night
payment is due upfront for the Rally as that is only way we can get and keep the group pricing.
I need to know your coach number and which type of site you would like. If all concrete sites are full you will be reserved under a stone site for the event
The Facebook group: Newell Coach Owners group is your best way of communicating on the event and keeping up to date on it.
Also the easiest way for me to keep track of everything for it as well is if rally members post on there, so I am not having to continue checking various platforms.
Pre coach numbers: please give me a the vin number that you give newell when you contact them instead, so i can have a way of listing you on my running spreadsheet for organization purposes which you can email or PM to me on here along with Year model as well.
I am adding the link to the FB group event i have created for this Rally below

I would like it if it were in Missouri, if I can get mine ready for a short trip. depending on work I think this would be fun.

If past attendance at non Rally Rallies is an indicator, you are looking for 20 or possibly less sites, 60 to 100 is just not a realistic number. I am not trying to dissuade you, just don’t want you trying to deal with a park selection criteria that makes it too hard to find a park. Also when trying to find a park, make sure they are in the loop with the age of the coaches attending.

Thank you guy for this info
Have you ever been to maumelle camp in Little Rock ar I’m waiting for a call back from them to try and see if their campground is a possibly candidate. They have 144 sites with 100 being 50amp. Big sites with woods in between each campsite and on either a river or lake and few miles to lots of things to do in Little Rock area including state park hiking trails from beginner to difficult.

i have done rallys since 2012 for newellgurus and for the past number of years richard and steve have done them.

the most we had was in the black hills in 2012 and we had 30 coaches.

to expect more than 20 is probably optimistic. and that is including all years of coaches.

my two cents worth.

but....maybe i am offbase nowadays....

Matt, I would be in. As mentioned on FB, maybe leave the invite for anyone who wants to come. The Amana RV park sounds interesting as there would be stuff for the ladies to do as well while the guys talk shop. Distance is not a factor for us. We used to attend the TRials TR6 British car gatherings all over the country and drove from AZ in that little 2 seater to Niagara Falls one year. Galena, Illinois the next. Had a great time and still keep in touch with many people even though I sold the car years ago. Blew #2 piston in Oklahoma on bad gas (85 octane in a supercharged engine) but made it home to AZ.
