Butylene fitting bushings?
#1

I have a couple of connections that leak at the fitting that screws onto the inlet of the water filter. Normally, I have been cutting these out and converting to Pex with a poly/pex converter fitting and then using a stainless steel braided sink hose for attachment. Where the water filter is located, it is a much tougher challenge. I would rather replace this bushing and move on with my life. I can't seem to find these. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

Do you have a picture of where that goes?

Not sure if this pertains to your problem but our water filter had 3/4 NPT on inlet and outlet which had some type of swivel connection that broke off on both in and out, I trash canned the old filter unit and replaced with a new filter and 3/4 pex to 3/4 male NPT.

I found them online. They are called cones for use with butyl fittings. Plumbingsupply.com. I ended up cutting out a bunch of unused butyl pipe from what may have been a 120v pump. I have two 12v pumps and that's perfect for my use. Somewhere along the way, previous owner had someone scab on some clear pipe to make a u-turn back to the filter. All that pipe was rigged together and unsupported. Unfortunately, there are two spots I cannot get my Pex crimper into so I will have to use shark bite push on fittings. Not liking that idea but since my brother redid so much of his plumbing using those in his house 9 years ago at least makes me feel confident they will hold up to our measly 35psi of pressure. I had bought a new filter but felt the original top half on the filter was much stronger so I put in new 3/4" brass fittings and started building new Pex from that.

In the picture is the cone and how it is used. I did buy some new cones for areas like the shower valve in case that one leaks. I already converted the sinks and toilet. I may pull out the washer/dryer to replace the hoses for good measure. (incidentally, I did put in 1/4 turn valves for the sinks and toilet.)  If I had my choice, I would remove some of those valves in the water bay seeing that there are shut offs at the sinks.

Jack, I would say the same for you! You inspired myself and others with your retrofit mini split install. This is a great collective.

Simon,
Great source on the Poly fittings. I have a handful of fittings that are missing various components that make them useless.....now I can get them whole again.....https://www.plumbingsupply.com/polyb.html

Yeah, just as I found out what the parts were called and even went ahead and ordered them, I ended up cutting all that stuff out and replumbing the affected areas with Pex! LOL I just can't sit still and do the waiting thing!
