Do you have a picture of where that goes?
Not sure if this pertains to your problem but our water filter had 3/4 NPT on inlet and outlet which had some type of swivel connection that broke off on both in and out, I trash canned the old filter unit and replaced with a new filter and 3/4 pex to 3/4 male NPT.
