Fuel tank capacity
#6

Bob,

Based on the external measurements of the tank in our 99, Coach 512, I calculate the fuel capacity somewhere around 190 to 200 gallons.

270 could not possibly be correct for my tank.

Also, my gauge, and the VMSPc useage would agree with a tank size of approximately 200 gallons.

To do the measurement calc. Ht x wd x length in inches. I subtracted 1/2 inch from each measurement to allow for a 1/4 thick wall. 1 cubic inch = 0.004329 gallons. So multiply the ht by wd by length by 0.004329 to get a pretty close estimate of the capacity of the fuel tank.

This would also work for waste and fresh water tanks.
