another update.
this morning my brotherinlaw and i got the cooling system all back together. we ran it for quite a while with the cap off but couldnt get it up to temp to open the thermostats. so later today we unhooked and drove to a really nice city owned visitors center that has a fantastic dual lane dump station and water fill with great access. hey....we have been here 15 days and it was time to dump.
no leaks and we got it up to temp. it sucked in about another gallon of coolant so i will top it off in the morning when it has cooled down.
i think we finally got it licked. i only have to go get a few stainless bolts to finish the radiator fan shroud.
for information....we used high end tbolt clamps on the new hoses. 6 clamps on the upper rear radiator hose, 4 on the lower front hose, and 3 each where both connect to the engine. on the engine side there is only room for 1 clamp each. we cleaned off and rust primered the front bottom engine hose connection to make sure it makes a good seal.
supposed to be cool tonite so will check one more time for leaks in the morning and then call it good if there is none. after holding pressure for over two days with no leaks i assume i should be ok.
coach ran like a top and my brotherinlaw drove it home the long way. he was impressed.
we have been in lethbridge for 15 days. primarily to help with darlenes ailing mom so we were in no rush to get the coach ready to go. we will probably be here at least another week. but who knows. enjoying ourselves here.
happy thursday
