From an e-mail sent to me by Todd Flickma:

"Ok boys the campground called me today. They are awesome. She is consolidating everyone together because some are spread out right now. Clark asked to had the show Newell on the end (must be a new one then) and Reganalls are together. The three of us will also be in close proximity. The held spots end today so anyone on the fence it is open now so we should tell folks that.

She will have welcome packets for everyone specially made for us. She needs to know how many people are bringing the off road ATV type things because they have to get passes for those. They only sell them in a few spots so she would like to buy them and our them in those folks packets so they don't have to chase them down. They cost $ 20 for I think the whole year."

To summarize 1) Today is the end of sites being held in reserve for our group. If you are on the fence, but are leaning toward coming you need to call them and make a reservation, otherwise there may not be a site for you after today. 2) If you are going to do any off roading the RV park needs to know so they can get those permits for you ahead of time.
To All

Just talked to Michelle at Elkhorn Ridge RV Park after seeing the e mail to Clark from Todd regarding ATV pass

Michelle said she will "make the call" to see what needs to happen and see if she can get the passes together as mentioned in the e mail to Clark from Todd or if we have to send more information prior to receiving a pass, or if we have to talk to the powers to be directly.. In any case, she is going to get back to Todd with the "what we need to do to get the pass"
In the meantime she has notated on my reservation that we will be bringing an ATV and will need a pass. Sounds like notifying her as suggested by Todd and Clark will start the ball rolling

Todd is right. She was great to to talk to and sounds like they are looking forward to the Newell Gurus bunch !

Update for you off road crazies. She found a website that she will email to me and we will get posted where you can buy your own pass.
Great, we will have our RZR.
Thanks Flick.

One thing you all need to know is that Michelle ran the chamber of commerce for the city of Sturgis before being lured away by the folks who own the campground and the development in the valley. Sturgis has a population of I think 10,000 compared to my town which is the largest in the state of 160,000. For a week each year the population of Sturgis can swell to as high as 500,000 for the week of the motorcycle rally. So she knows how to get things done. She said if we come back during the rally (no spots left I would imagine). We will see several folks who send two luxury coaches in. One is for them and the other is for their cooks and assistants. Several of these owners also do not drive in with their coaches but rather fly in on their jets and are picked up. I think she will take good care of us with this experience she has. We may need to make her an honorary Guru.

Side bar: she has friends that do screen printing and is convinced we should have commemorative shirts or something.
shirts would be cool, but we would have to do it so no one got stuck with shirts if people didnt want them. prepay or order or something.

maybe we could get commemorative harleys made. that way we could ride to sturgis on them.

Todd & Tom, if anyone has artistic talent have them create a logo...I can have it digitized from a pdf and play with it on one of my facility's embroidery machines....that way we aren't paying for setup fees etc....

I have zero art ability but I'm sure someone can put together a rally logo!

I can see it now...tie-died tee shirts with logos..lol

I just booked spot 104 for the 25, and 26th. Those dates may slide by a day or two depending on our progress. We plan on departing from Vancouver Island on the evening of the 21st. We may have to stop in Calgary for a night.
Hope to meet you all there.
