Just read an article about a lady that bought a 1966 GMC LA transit bus with a manual transmission and spent $125,000 turning it into a tiny home

Link to article with pictures.

"One of the hardest challenges was building walls and storage and closets in," she said. "If the angle isn't exactly the same every time you park [the bus], you might have an issue with opening a door or something like that."

"If you want to try your hand at tiny home living, Lipskin has decided to sell her beautifully designed mobile abode for $149,000."

Just saw this announced by Amazon:  it is a box that will record over-the-air TV from an antenna and then record/save the shows for you.  Not sure how you tell it which shows you want but it looks like a good fit for a coach.  When I get mine I'll give you the full scoop on it but here is a link:

I am having serious Valid level problems. I can't raise the rear of the coach.

1. I have check the rear raise valves to see if the are engaging when the manual raise button is pressed and it does.
2. checked the the rear travel valves. they engage but it doesn't raise.
3. There is air to the six pack block which i checked by disconnecting the air input to make sure.
4. checked the valves for travel and they engage.

I'm in a position where I can raise the rear to drive.  I called Valid and Dan North seems to think there is no air to the block. It is almost liked something is stopping the air from moving inside the block.

The block is from HWH but the rest is Valid. Tried calling HWH but no luck.

Any suggestions of what to check would be greatly appreciated

Dear Newell Gurus, If you need a wiper motor for the older coaches with two motors, I've found the 230-2001 (RH) and 230-1001 (LH) fit my wiper gear box mounts (bolt in!) (#277 1991) from AM Equipment in Jefferson, OR 541 327-1546. Even better, Butch Helland there on the help will take the time to help you solve your wiper motor problems. These will replace the Bosch motors that are no longer available.

Good miles to you!
Danny

We are staying at Hearthside Grove Motorcoach Resort this week and there are 7 or 8 Newell’s in here. Was wondering if anyone from this site was here as well.
We do not own our Newell yet but we are in site 228 in our American Coach Tradition.
The wind is horrible today, gust up to 30-40 mph at times.
We went fishing on Lake Michigan early this morning and caught one nice Coho Salmon, a nice Whitefish and 7 monster Lake Trout all in about 2 1/2hours.

Forum: Engine and Transmission Monitoring Systems

I am looking at the RV Dash and the Silverleaf VMSPc systems to monitor my coach.
I have read a bunch of the threads but don’t see any direct head to head comparison.
The RV Dash works with an iPad (not sure about Android)
The Silverleaf VMSPc works only with Windows PCs but one can use Remote Desktop to show the screens and interact with them on an iPad and maybe other devices.
The RV Dash has come down in price to $350 for everything and the VMSPc is about $395 but I think there is a dealer that sells it for about $350
From Silverleaf, the VMSPC includes:
VMSpc USB Kit, $395 + freight
VMSpc JIB (JS501/USB)
6 ft USB cable (as required)
1 ft engine diagnostic harness (specify 6 pin or 9 pin)
CD with software
Owner's Manual w/ Warranty card

The RV Dash kit includes:
CANpod, interface cable and access to RV Dash and DDec Decoder applications for $350.00.

Is there anything the RV Dash kit can do that the VMSPc cannot do (and vice-versa)?
I have owned the Silverleaf before and know it will work but really like the idea of using a 12” iPad on the dash to see engine/trans info.
