I currently have the standard double V belt drive system for the alternator and AC compressor. As others of you who have this setup know, any serious load on the alternator causes the belt to slip, heat up, stretch, and eventually fail.
I have seen a different setup where a belt tensioner and serpentine belt is used. I have seen a few pictures of Newells with this setup.
I want to install this on my rig. Sourcing the serpentine pulleys and tensioner is no problem.
However, I am having a hard time figuring out how DD mounted the tensioner to the engine. Since it is a factory setup, there must be a missing piece but I am having a hard time figuring that out.
If you have this setup, would you post some pictures of how the tensioner is mounted?
When I'm on 50 amp shore power the two 220V lights blink. The 110V lights do not light at all.
When I'm on genset the two 220V lights burn steady, the 110V lights burn steady and the generator light is very bright.
Just curious why the 220V lights blink on 50A, but don't on genset. Are the 110V lights supposed to be lit when on 50A shore power?

I find that my 2 8d starter batteries need a charge every week or so. I guess I have some parasitic loads on them.
Will this tender work or should I need one for each battery or a larger one:

Also where would be the best place to run a permanent cable for 110v for this?
The closest receptacle is in one of the basements in the middle of the coach, kinda far to fish a cable.
My '93 has what appears to be one of those "cube" heaters in the bay. It is not working. I'm wondering if anybody has had to replace the heater. What did you replace it with?
I'm going through some maintenance items before winter storage (running behind schedule as usual).
I have a couple of electrical questions:
I have one dead and one weak battery to replace.
The alternator is fried, I think caused by the dead battery and age (original). It's not rebuildable.

I have two 8d's for starting and two 8d coach batteries I see a few posts in other forums recommending replacing 8d's with 3 group 31's. Pros/cons of replacing the start batteries with two new 8d's and the coach with 6 deep cycle group 31's. Will different batteries charge ok when the engine is running and when plugged in or should I just keep all 8d's? I have had very good luck with Interstate group 31's in my previous camper and boats and can get them from my local store for a very good price ($30).

The converter / charger appears to be original, it only charges at 11.5 volts (per meter and nameplate data), this seems pretty low to charge or even maintain them.
I'm considering a Progressive Dynamics 70 amp converter with the charge wizard, I'm hoping this will provide more life and better performance for the new batteries, is it worth doing?

Anybody know where the oil pressure sender for the DDEC is located?
Just got a call from Mark, he's on the side of the road. His DDEC shutdown his engine on low oil pressure. His dash gauge shows pressure so he thinks it may be a sensor. But where is it?
my series 60 engine display shows i have 0 oilpressure and is shutting down the engine. my analog dash gague shows it is fine.. but the ddec wont let me drive more than a few hundred yards. before it shuts down.. doesnt the shutdown overide suppose to let me drive? any ideas is helpful.. im guessing opil pressure sensor is bad. Newell thinks its ok anyone have any ideas?
Here we go again, it's an old subject but I'm in need of air bags (4) for replacement of my old ones on the steer axle. To the best of my knowledge they have a Firestone bellows number of ITI5LL2 and I'm not positive but believe the Firestone air bag number is either FAW013589447 or 445. The coach is a 94. Can anybody verify either of the numbers and send me in the right direction to find some. I've been told that they are not easily available and could require a 2-3 month wait time for Firestone to produce. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
