So last fall when we had the RV for a short time the generator would always start on the second try. Just tried it today and it would start but then die as soon as I took my finger off of the start button. Tried a number of times. If I held my finger on the switch just a tad longer it would run but again as soon as I took my finger off of the switch it would die. Now another thing is that I have a switch for a fuel pump on my dash. It is off right now and I honestly don't recall what position it was in last year. Not sure if it is for the generator or not but I turned it on and could hear a pump but the generator would still not continue to run after starting.
Ok guys got any suggestions for me and can you tell me what the fuel pump switch is for?

I am in the process of updating the electronic in my 04 changing over to HD. I will be removing the tracvision because I do not have enough room on the roof for both. I also have a 42" Zenith Plasma monitor which will go to. If anyone is interested I can deliver to Spearfish and if not I will be listing on Ebay. Both pieces are in good shape but do not support HD. Please make an offer. I will be in NV and UT until moving to Gillette.

Well, just go ahead and call me stupid, but after replacing the blower motors, the control board, and the brain box, I made one trip to Miami (OK), to pick up my trailer I had painted to match my coach there. Aqua Hot worked great, until the trip home. I got tired and stopped at a rat hole RV park for the night.. I got there after dark, and while trying to get to my spot, I had to swing extra wide to clear other campers with my trailer. Being that you cannot see out of my Newell after dark ( I wonder if they are all that way), I drove through some grass that had a tree stump hidden in it. Being that my Newell qualifies as a "low rider", the Aqua Hot exhaust pipe found the stump. It broke off, and water was draining out the bottom. It seems that I ruptured the boiler tank. So... back to Newell I go to get that repaired... estimated to be 5K.Needless to say, I had my wife along for the trip, and I had to explain to her why we had no water for the toilet, or shower. I am getting disgusted with my Newell. If it continues to be this problematic, it may be up for sale. I have, so far spent around 75,000.00 getting it roadworthy. I realize that this last episode was driver error, but enough already...

WE HAVE HAD OUR 1985 NEWELL FOR 5 YEARS. LOVE THIS COACH, IT'S BEEN A GREAT FIRST COACH, BUT HAVE STEPPED UP TO A MUCH NEWER PREVOST. SO THIS ONES FOR SALE. WE'LL MISS 'ER, BUT SHE'LL BRING MANY GREAT MEMORIES AND DEPENDABLE ADVENTURES FOR SOME LUCKEY OWNER.
SO IT'S HELLO NEWELL GURU AND FAREWELL ALL IN ONE INTRO....

After talking to Tom I have joined this great forum. So much of the Newell is similar to my 2004 Monaco Signature. Not too many forums can talk the Detroit Series 60. The leveling system and the Aqua Hot are the same also. I have retired from Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Systems in Marietta Georgia where I was a engineer on the F/A-22a Raptor fighter. Before working at Lockheed I was in Naval Aviation for 26 years. Recently moved (back) to Freeport, Maine, about 3.5 miles from the L L Bean main store.

Tom, your 2002 probably has the same headlights as my 2001. When you replaced your headlights, did you save the old bulbs? My curb side high beam is out, and fuse is OK. If you did not save them, perhaps you kept a record of what make and model they are.
