My rear engine start switch does not seem to do anything when I turn it. (Dead silence) This is regardless if the toggle switch next to it is up or down. Where should I look to troubleshoot this thing? Engine starts normally from cockpit.

Simon,
Look on the back of the engine start switch. It is located in the cabinet on right side when you have engine hatch opened. Make sure all of the contacts are clean and tight.

Mine was doing the same thing (or, more accurately, nothing) despite having previously worked just fine. Fixed by replacing the in-line fuse on the power line to the switch (accessed by opening the engine compartment and opening the back side of the cabinet housing the switch). Good luck! BTW - my ignition key does not need to be inserted or in the on position for the rear start switch to work.
