Good Day All!
My name is Brian and I are looking to upgrade to a Newell sometime in the future. We started with backpacks years ago, then graduated to popups, then travel trailers, a class C, and now we have a 2007 Winnebago Tour 40KD. We live in Virginia and I consider myself mechanically capable for most things I have encountered on the Winnebago.   We have come to love the motorcoach lifestyle, and I am getting the itch to upgrade yet again to a Newell. My wife is dealing with some significant medical issues, and the flexibility that the motorhome offers allows us to travel in both comfort and convenience.
I have been lurking on this site for several weeks now and am impressed with both the collective knowledge and the effort to share your experiences with these machines. I will thank you in advance for the information, as it has already helped in refining what we are looking for (98-2006 years), and inspection tips.
I am retired military and we travel around visiting family and friends. We also belong to a military RV group that hosts rallies all over the US (Special Military Active Recreational Traveler, AKA SMART). Their national rally is in Elkhart Indiana in August. I hope to meet some of you on the road in 2026 and beyond!

Cheers

Welcome Brian,

We lived in Roanoke for a bit.

Suggest you take the time to read the entire section on what to consider when buying a used Newell. It will help you immensely in your search by knowing what questions to ask and what to look for.

Welcome Brian!

As others have said, keep reading and getting to know about the fine machines. Ask questions and the collective will help out any way they can. Looks like you have a Hoosier neighbor, I would take them up on the offer to stop. If you find something you may find someone nearby that can come and help you take a look at it with you for another set of impartial eyes.

Welcome! The build quality is great. The driving experience is very good. The Newell offers many opportunities to learn new systems!!!! If you like to tinker, it's the machine for you!
