The generator will not stay running when strter button is released. Solenoit pulls fuel valve open, but closes as soon as starter button is released.
Also the fuel Solenoid is getting very hot when not in use and genertor is not running.
It appears that the previous owner installed a after market one because the wires do not have a plug on them, but 3 seperate crimped ends. One wire(black)is going to a bolt on the solenoid to ground, one wire (red) is going to blue and yellow wires from the wireing harness, one wire (white) is going to a white wire from the wireing harness.
If i disconect the wires, let it set and cool off, the generator will start and stay running, the solenoid appears to be working as it should.
Shut the generator down, wait a couple of hours and the solenoid gets hot to the touch and stops holding the fuel valve open.

I cant help you with color matching but a bit of info and a voltmeter may help you sort it out. The solenoid has two pull in modes. One is extra strong and energized when the starter is engaged. The other is normal pull and engaged when gen y is running. Disconnect solenoid from wiring. Use ohm meter on your meter and confirm black is ground. There should be very little resistance when measuring black wire to ground. Now when ohming the other two solenoid wires, the one with lower resistance will be the strong pull circuit. Great. Now measure the voltage on the two wires that were connected to the solenoid. One of them
Should only have voltage when the starter is engaged. Tie
That wire to
The high pull wire on the solenoid.
Sounds like the two wires are backwards.
Edited. One of our EE gurus, gently corrected me on which wire was which. I appreciate the correction. I love this forum because of the way the members treat one another.

Thanks much! You guys are a fantastik wealth of info to a newbie like me!
I found the white wire connector with some corrosion on it. I removed all the old non waterproof connectors, crimped on all new heat shrink water tight connectors and then used heat shrink tubing over all wire and connector junctions.
I tested the wires and am getting power to the pull side when Generator is cranking, and once running, power to the white hold side.
At this point it is starting and staying running, and then shuts off with the switch.
When you start the generator, how long should it run before the lights on the panel above the driver, show that you are running off of the generator?
I also see that the fire extinguisher is just in the green area, but not by much. I read that if it is low the Generator won’t stay running. Is that true on a 2005, or just on newer coaches? I do not see any wires running to my extinguisher.

It may take up to a minute for the lights to come on.
