I need to tighten v belt, thinking I could get to it from opposite bay- plastic wall about 8- 10 feet long riveted. even if I drillm out rivets there maybe a metal firewall. how does one tighten belt or even replace alternator/water pump?

On 712 front entry, I was able to change the belt, without removing anything, it was tight but I was able to do it, I remember using pry bay to tension belt,

Generator ?

I took off thermostat housing, got the adjustment bolt loose but the pivot just turns like you need a wrench behind the alternator which I cannot seem to remotely reach. Maybe you brute forced with prybar.

I got that one loose. Its the one way below at the bottom of the al;ternator that attaches it to the block that it pivots about. I had a socket on it but rotates but not loosens.

I did this 5 years ago, I don't remember if I had too loose that pinch bolt, I put my arm in there and there is a nut on the back of the bolt, I guess mine is not that tight, I know I can tighten my belt without loosening that bolt, I wonder if I should tighten it up
