does this one have a stairs cover?
jon, is right, if the seal in the piston in the ram is bad, they almost always leak both ways.

Yep, they power the step cover. I ordered a new part and installed it this morning. The leak is fixed, however, the step cover is out and will not retract. When trying to retract I hear the solenoid click. Do I need to bleed the line or something?

The solenoid should exhaust when activated in or out (I think both ways). Make sure you didn't hook up the tubing backwards.

Tubing is correct. Hooked up exactly like the original.

Would it do any good to disconnect tubing, manually push cover in and then reconnect tubing? Just thinking there might be a mechanical "timing" issue going on.

What exactly did you replace? the solenoids or the entire assembly? If you replaced the entire assembly are the exhaust ports open? Any chance you could have plumbed or wired it backwards?
Easy way to check is to disconnect both exit airlines? see which is activated on open and close
Now have someone move the step, as Bill suggested, while you see which air line pushes air. Take the air line that pushes air when the step is moved from out to in and connect that to the assembly port that blows air when you push the out button

I replaced the entire assembly. Step cover is OK. It must have been a reset. But, I still have a system leak somewhere else. I'm not sure if my 120v air compressor is coming on. Man, these air leak problems are tough to resolve.

David,
It's easy to check if the 120 is coming on. Is yours in the generator bay or by the generator blower. Bleed the system pressure down to 60 by pumping the brakes. The compressor should come on. Put your hand on the compressor. It will vibrate when on. If it doesn't then, first check the breaker. You may have two breakers. One in the rear breaker panel, and a second one in the bay with the inverter. My coach is one serial number different from you. Newell did a neat thing on this one. They have a separate breaker panel for inverter loads, plus those loads can be plugged into the inverter or they can be plugged into AC feed that bypasses the inverter. They did this in case the inverter takes a dump, you can keep the frig and other things going without the transfer switch in the inverter until you fix it.
If the compressor doesn't come on, and the breakers are not tripped, then the next thing to check is to take a voltmeter see if you have voltage at the compressor. I don't know you and I don't know if you are comfortable with that or not. Please advise.
