OTA antenna
#1

hi all,

my 90 has the batwing hand crank antenna and works for hd OTA just great. my 2002 has a mount for it, but nothing there but the coax.

and no control panel in the front tv cabinet.

i was looking at several different antennas, at first mostly the stationary small ufo looking ones.

i know that if the 02 had an OTA antenna it likely would be the winegard ma-1000 motorized lift one. is that right? that is discontinued by winegard and people are asking lofty amounts for it.

i do not want to put a hand crank one in.

what are you guys using and with what success?

i currently have an cheap amplified one installed behind the front tv and it works, but but needs to be outside.

thoughts?

tom

Hi Tom,
Here's what I use. It works well. It is directional and adjusts easily.

new ones of the braund are 800-1000 bucks. i am certainly not going to spend that on an ota antenna.

not sure what i will do yet

either experiment with the smaller dome ota's like the winegard or the one dean uses or go with a motorized winegard...
