Hello everyone, our names are Paul and Pam and we just registered to your site today. Paul is what he calls computer illiterate, so I will need to post everything for him. Now I'm not real sure that he is really illiterate, or just really smart to get me to do all his typing. Anyway, we have a 2004 quad slide Newell with an Acqua Hot, washer dryer, and a whirlpool tub that we will attempt to winterize today. The winters get cold, already had nights below freezing, so we need to get moving on getting this done. We have the coach in a building with 50amp, but it is non heated and the power goes out quite often in the winter and spring. We live out in the country, so the power company is a bit slow on fixing the older power lines when they fail. We are open to any advise you can provide for winterizing our coach.
Thank you.

Pam,
The Aqua Hot heater can NOT be winterized by draining or blowing fresh water out with air pressure. The only way to keep the fresh water coil from freezing in an unheated environment is to flood with pink RV antifreeze.
Get a bucket with 2 or 3 gallons of RV antifreeze. Use a pump that is connected to the fresh water hose input to the coach. Open any one hot water facuet, turn pump one, when pink comes out of facuet, the Aqua Hot is protected.
You can use same for all other fresh water lines. Be sure to include washing machine and any other appliance that uses fresh water. Put some into sinks to flood the P-traps that are on each sink drain.
Hope this helps, all the best.

Thank you Rudy, any ideas for the whirlpool tub? We were thinking we just need to fill the tub with the pink rv anti-freeze up the jets and then turn it on for a few seconds, then just drain the fluid into the tank and wipe out the tub. Any thoughts on this?
Pam

As long as you circulate the pink stuff through the jets, the whirlpool should be fine.
