All good feedback. I wonder which one allows more flow.
On the Newell there is plenty of room even for the Fumoto with the nipple. The Femco does look like it is shorter but I wonder which one would be easier to use when filling one gallon containers- to turn on and off easily and quickly.

I have the fumato. Instant shut off when filling me gallon oil jugs. Take a rag and the screw on top for the jug under with you. I made a mess when trying to slide the jug out without a lid. Duh.
Biggest mess is with the filters. Russ or Larry nailed with putting a hole in bottom of filter and letting it drain into a pan before taking it loose.

Ok I bought a Fumoto Valve and it will be installed today. My question to those that already have one is did it come with a washer for sealing? I don't have anything but the valve.

According to the website, some do some don't depends on the engine.

Just talked with the valve company and they said the threads are tapered so no special washer is needed.

[attachment=1014]A few years back, I made adapters for a Yanmar dealer. They were 22mmX1.5 pitch & 1/2" Mnpt, steel, plated yellow chromate. I have way more than I'll ever need if someone wants one.

Just to follow up. I installed the fumoto valve on the side of the oil pan. It has a plug on both sides and bottom. The side ports will drain same as bottom. I use a clear plastic hose about 12 inches long to drain into one gallon containers. Have to run the engine first to get the oil to run good, this of course makes for a better drain overall. I love it!
