Under the ceramic top is a little brass valve with a hex head that controls how fast the air escapes. Your cycle is too short which is due to either low air pressure or the speed control valve is too open.
Confirm air pressure on the gauge at the 12VDC compressor junction is approximately 55 to 60.
If adjusting the hex head, do it in 1/16 turns, it is mighty sensitive. Cycle time from flush to finish should be about 5 secs, IIRC.
