You can pause either one. You pay for 30 days at a time with either one. So if you put one on pause it'll work until that 30 day period is over. That's what I plan to do for the mini. Just turn it on when I need it. The Gen 3 at the cabin I leave on so I can see my cameras and adjust my thermostats if I need to.
