Dear Dennis, In your first photo it show two brass fittings coming off the compressor head. One is a nipple and I bet the next one is a check valve. There may be another check valve on the out flow side of the water/air separator. Those are installed in case the separator bowl blows or cracks to prevent the whole system from bleeding off. There probably is a better reason we don't have air bleeding back, but I'm still studying Newell's air system on our coach.
It may have to do with the routing of the main air lines off the engine compressor. I haven't checked anything with the engine running.
I just bought four good jack stands so I can crawl around underneath safely. About $144 a pair on Amazon (22 ton). Please let me know. deg
