DD60 starting problem

Sure enough it had no feul in it.  I added feul to bring it up to about the halfway point on the filter and tried again, no luck. Dianna was watching the feul level in the filter while I cranked the engine and saw that it was leaking at the base of the globe. I removed the globe reseated the o-ring and put it back together.  After filling it back up with feul no more leak, but I can't get it to fire at all. Any suggestions?

You need to try to get fuel back into the engine. Need to look in the fuel bay and see if you have a priming pump there, it will be a black knob. Not sure if that was fitted on your year coach.

If not, I have used a vacuum cleaner with the hose output to blow air into the fuel tank to force fuel back into the filter and the engine. I loosen the fuel fitting on the fuel pump on the engine and put a pan under it to catch the fuel. Blow air until you get a good stream of fuel coming out at the fuel pump and then tighten up the fitting. Keep the vacuum going and try to crank the engine. Be careful when you remove the hose from the fuel filler, it can splash fuel back on you if you remove it quickly. I wrap a rag around the vacuum hose so that I get a good tight fit. Don't worry the tank should have a vent to allow some air out of it and the tank may make some noise as it expands a bit but your not going to hurt it as long as the tank is in good shape.
Not that long back I had another Newell member I helped, and his coach would not prime. Turned out it was the check valve was stuck, even after I blew compressed air through it, could not get fuel to go through it. We had to replace it with a new check valve and while we were at it we replaced the fuel line from the tank to the fuel filter (was not an easy job!). Once you have fuel going to the engine it should fire, as long as there is not another issue.
