Like Tom said the mini works great and is fast. With the big update last summer the mini works much better with obstructions. It's if you're in a congested area that you might be throttled. Anchorage was horrible. But when you look at how few satelites are in that area it's easy to see why. BTW up in the Arctic we would occasionally have outages because of the satelite spacing.
IMO the main difference between the mini and the standard size dish is the mini has the router built into the dish. That could be a problem with the aluminum cage like the Newell. The mini can utilize a separate router which would mean another separate network cable to run.
