First I would get to good wiring on both sides of the burned and chewed stuff. Then I make jumpers with a blade fuse holder in the jumper. Any automotive store will have the blade fuse holders. A 5 or 10 amp blade fuse will protect the circuits from a direct short.
So to clarify. Put blade fuses on the burned and chewed wires?? I have the blade fuse holders already in my tool box in the coach
