So I just recently replaced my fuel pump on my generator. I will tell you that my pump would sound like its running but it was not pumping. Not sure if you have the same style pump but the carter pump mine had an internal magnet coupling and the pump would spin sometimes and then stop spinning with just the slightest amount of force put on the pump.

Now looking closely at your photos trying to find a fuel pump, it appears you have a Makuni fuel pump, not sure what model it is. It seems that the Makuni fuel pumps use vacuum to run them, not sure how they are making this work on this engine or maybe this model of fuel pump is not a vacuum type. Not sure if Gordon had any insight on the fuel pump, but may call Martin to see what the pump part number is.
