i am planning on leaving on a trip on monday and i had problems intermittantly for a few tries with the step going up then it was ok.  

so today i decided i would make sure the steps would retract.   no go.  

even engine overide doesnt work.  

i have the bode air door.  

i disconnected the steps and they work just fine with 12v being applied to them.  i used the kwikee troubleshooting guide.  

i checked the voltages at the plug and they are fine except for the door switch.  there is no voltage there.  

so a few things are coming together....i have a light over the steps on the inside.  you can either turn it on all the time, or off all the time or AUTO so it goes off a few seconds after the door is closed.  the other night i noticed it stayed on and it was in auto.  

so, i dont believe the controller is getting the 12v signal from the switch that knows when the door is closed to retract the steps.  

so now.....the big question.  where is that switch?  i do not see one in the door frame.  and the 4 wires from the kwikee step go up to this control board in the bay to the right of the door.  one time the door wouldnt retract and i had dislodged the relay.  (a few years ago).  

i took the relay out and there was a little corrosion so i tried to clean it up and i used some dielectric grease on it.  still nothing.  

is there a trigger switch on the bode air door mechanism to say when the door is closed?

the puzzler is that it wont go up when the engine is running either.  that doesnt make sense.  unless it goes through that relay as well.  

any wisdom here?
