In my case, my Cat-13 is much different than other engines. The hydraulic system is a carry over from pre-ZF suspensions. “I am of the mindset” that when the move away from DD60 warranted a new hydraulic system mindset.
My 38” Multi-Wing Cooling Fan set at the minimum pitch of 20° is insufficient to provide airflow for the Cat-13 engine. Why only 20° pitch?
More than 20° of pitch and the V20 pump specifications are exceeded.
As far as your rig is concerned, sounds like you might need a new hydraulic pump/lines and good advice from someone with your era Newell.
Hang in there, you’ll get it figured out with the information and guidance from the most experienced owners anywhere.

Is there any reason why you did not do a 2 stage pump instead of the two separate pumps? Seems it would be much easier to do a 2 stage pump in place of the V20 and that would supply basically 2 pumps. Again not sure if you did not have room for it or did not know about 2 stage pumps or was it determined the engine would not be able to handle it? I know the DD is going to be different than the Cat but I am sure both manufacturers have specs on how much can be driven off of the gear train.

The fan motor needs more than a stacked pump can provide.

Gotcha, appreciate it. This will help me with figuring out what is going on with mine.

I recommend documenting the symptoms in order, clearly and specifically, and posting them here or in a new thread. Provide details about the year coach, engine type, mileage, if you believe the pump is original or if there are maintenance records that point to past problems with the systems.
Keep in mind that your hydraulic system serves two purposes so if you experience cooling issues that could be an important data point.
Pictures are always helpful to held describe your concerns or observations.
I’m sure once you get some information out to the Gurus you’ll be on track for a solution.
