We changed fuel filters at rest area. We were losing power under load . I filled new filters and it started then died . Now roadside says bad fuel pump . I know it is lost prime . We are getting ready for tow . Any suggestions would help ! My number is 6039788916

Tried calling
I had a 8v that would loose prime every time we changed filters
Try taking the return line loose at fuel tank
Pump fuel back into fuel tank Through filters
That should correct problem (if it’s not the pump)

I have had luck taking suction line off at tank then holding it higher than engine. Pour fuel into line & keep it gravity fed until engine runs smooth. Shut off & QUICKLY reattach to tank. Restart engine & run at 1600-2000 rpm for a cpl of minutes to make sure all air is out of system. George's idea may be simpler than mine.

Can you tell us how roadside determined it was the pump?
I had a fuel pump failure thar exhibited the exact symptoms you have described. In my case the relief valve in the pump was stuck open and not allowing pressure to build at low rpm's. That pump was a real buggar to access on my coach.

Pushing fuel to the pump as others have described is how the shop determined it was the pump.

Finally coach is running ...it was prime . Coach is running awesome !

I know this is an old thread, but I am changing the fuel filters tomorrow. We have two of them in series. I am concerned about losing prime. I had a shop change them 18 months ago, and I don't remember any startup issues, but sometimes Murphy travels with me. No one chimed in on the thread as to how you overcome lost prime on an 8V92. I assume (uh oh ) I fill the filters with fuel, install them , and the engine will come to life. Any tips?

385 has a valve before the first filter
I close that valve remove filters then
Fill new ones with fuel, open valve
And start
