Very nice looking 1983. Was previously owned by a Guru who listed it here with coolant in the oil. OLD AD

No mention on the ad of the engine issue. Has inspection report shown.

I have seen this same seller posting older Wanderlodge’s. Same setup, rattle cans the engine and makes it pretty. At least he saved it from the wrecker. I think he’s a little on the high side, but these coaches are “1-2 million” now so.....

Looks like it has an additional 2300 miles on it since the previous owner gave up on it. Wonder what the fix was ?

Based on Johnnyboys post I would be very suspect. Probably a junkyard motor. I would definitely get an oil analysis at the very least.

Turns out I've been left out in the dark on this forum. The CraigsList ad has opened my eyes.
"rv type: class B"
"Factory Class A Motorhome Bus Conversion"
"Wide Body"
"Model M47"
"The model M470 is one of Newell’s finest and most sought after models, the size and comfort is perfect for the open highway."
"Autocheck & Carfax Certified (Excellent)"
"estimated Replacement Cost $754,000.00"

Nothing necessarily wrong with a junkyard motor. Personally, I have had great luck with them, especially for the money involved.
One oil analysis may not tell much, especially if you don't know what oil was put in it.
The price may not be too far out of line, especially considering what some sticks & staples are selling for. . . .

An oil analysis is an excellent tool for an ongoing look at the health of your engine. Unfortunately for a snapshot without knowing anything else about the engine it will only show outliers on the scale. Which may or may not help you determine the health of an engine when buying.
