During the night last night the shower exhaust fan opened and started running without turning it on from the control panel. Pushing the button on the wall switch panel no longer controls the fan, but the button does switch from blue to red and back. The fan has worked correctly for the first few days of the trip. This is not an issue urgent enough to call the hotline, and I can manually turn it of with the switch on the fan and I think I can close the lid for travel. So was just curious if anyone had any insight. We have only had this coach for a couple of weeks and is our first time out in it so not completely familiar with any electrical quirks we may have. Thanks

I assume it is a Fantastic Vent but since Newell's are custom there's no guarantee. Fantastic Vent fans can be open when travelling, FWIW.
First, I would remove the wall switch assembly & disconnect & reconnect the plug. The switch cover is magnetic & you can just pull it off. If that doesn't cure it you could either shut off all power & then turn it back on OR preferably find the fuse for it. Removing the fuse for a second or so may reset the Silverleaf module.
I would expect to find the fuse either in the compressor bay fuse panel or in the mid electronics bay on the driver side.

Thanks for the replies. I just shut the fan power off with the switch on the fan housing and left the lid up for the drive south on Thursday. Upon our arrival the lid was closed, after turning power back on the fan motor did not start spinning as it was when I turned the power off. To my surprise the fan now operated normally with the wall switch. Thinking all may be good with it we used it a couple times with the wall switch while showering and it worked normally. During the night I woke up to find the lid open and the fan running and the wall switch inoperable again. After turning off again with the power switch on the fan, it now will not come back on. I did remove and reinsert the fuse on the fan itself but have not been able to find the fuse on the coach. My electrical bay has fuses for 1-48 on the large panel and 601-624 on a smaller panel above that. All of the circuits mentioned above are listed on the printouts below the main panel are listed with the fuse amperage, also listed on the printout are 100-116 and 501-510 however there is no fuse size listed and I cannot find any fuses with those circuit numbers in the electrical bay, the shower fan is listed as 101. There is a fuse 101 in the compressor bay panel but it is labeled as trans pump and most everything in that panel appears to be for chassis systems. The 100s and 500s may be controlled from a relay or possible a fuse panel elsewhere which I have not located. All other 12v electrical items and switches are operating correctly. This coach does have the Intrepid control system and dash rather than the Silverleaf so maybe things are setup differently. This has not been a big deal who work around but I would have expected it would be simpler to troubleshoot. I am back home now so maybe will dig into it a bit more and then contact Newell tomorrow if I don’t figure it out.

Take a look at your list once more, 608 Shower Fan 10A. I realize that it also says 101 Shower Fan but there is no value which means it is not used.
It takes a while to decode the different systems on these fine machines.

You are absolutely correct, once I found it on 101 I did not look at the rest of the list carefully. The fuse is good, I removed to power cycle the fan but still no response from the wall switch or manually on the fan itself. Fortunately I only live about 20 minutes from Newell and since this was our first trip out in this coach I do have a few fix it items on my list so I may just let them take a look at it.
Thanks for the help

My fantastic fan has a moisture sensor that closes the lid and shuts the fan off if it senses rain. It will reopen after a while and run until it senses rain again. There is a small rocker switch on the unit that activates the auto
function.

Several years ago I began restoring our 1969 AirStream trailer. I needed a few parts for the Fantastic Fan so I called the company directly. After reciting my list of needed parts to the nice lady she offered me to send them the fan for rebuild!!! I took her up on that offer. They sent me a new fan at no charge! They have since been bought out (by Lippert, I think) so that kind of customer service may no longer exist. It would be worth a call.

Use caution buying from this site. They often are selling old product that may or may not fit what you have.
They have a very short return window of 30 days, which comes into play when you’re putting several orders from different vendors into one project. You won’t have all the parts to verify fitment before the return window closes.
Further website pictures and descriptions are often specifically wrong. The site says a part fits a particular model, when it actually only fits and older model due to manufacturer changes.
Worse still is even when you point of the description is completely wrong, they won’t allow you to return an item. You’re stuck with it.

When my fan gets closed by rain I have to cycle the switch off and then on again before the fan opens up and runs. I thought it would automatically open and run when it was dry enough. 1 1/2 days should have been long enough to dry in my book at the time.
