Moving the coach to Ozark
#1

We had left our beloved bus in a covered storage facility in Gilbert AZ last October when we moved to Ozark MO. Between then and now, my coach reported several power losses which the facility took anywhere from 2 to 5 days to correct. (Power was either unplugged by the other dog grooming business tenant sharing the pole or facility power issues)  This last power outage was the one that made us decide it was time to move it. We found an enclosed storage facility not far from the house with 20 amp power. I only need to maintain the lithium batteries. I will be flying back on the 20th and driving back to our new home. This will be the first time those big wheels have been moving in over 6 months. If ya see me on the road (I-10 East through AZ, NM, TX and OK)  wave! With so much going on with the new place, the timing couldn't be worse but we've had it dealing with the power issues. We have 17k in batteries and solar system to not consider doing this right away.

Thanks Jack! I've got good A/C on that thing now. After complaining for the 5th time yesterday, they called me to say the power was back on. It was for about an hour and went out again. I am at 62% on battery. I may shut it all down remotely when it gets to 20%. Interior is already at 103º and the coach is under a full cover.

We'll keep an eye out for you in case you change your route. We will head towards I-40 through Show Low, Albuquerque, Amarillo & points beyond on the 19th. You will probably be a blur at full steam, hammer down!

If the coach is accessible I could go take a look-see in the next couple of days & give you a heads up, send a PM.

If you need something looked at, or some hand getting the old girl rolling, let me know.  You know how to get hold of us.

Since my last response here, my coach has lost power two more times. The facility says they taped the plug to the post to keep others from pulling it out. Either way my plans are booked for the 22nd arrival with the last day at storage in Gilbert on the 23rd. I may rent a car hauler from Uhaul to bring Maries Smart car back. Auto shippers are quoting me upwards of $1300. Trailer rental is $700. Can't win either way. Her car has been left with a friend of ours at their home.

I flew in to Mesa Gateway the other day. I’m parked at a former neighbors house for the next couple of days while Wendy at NCTS is looking for new tires. Mine are 6 years on the drive/tag and three years on the steer. To say I’ve never felt more bored waiting on calls and sitting alone in the coach would be an understatement. I really felt like just leaving and driving straight back to Ozark but I know better about travelling on holidays so here I sit… most everyone has gone away for the weekend including my host. My solar can’t keep up with the cooling demands so the generator will run for about 14 hours a day.

Wow, thank you for the offer Jim. Had I logged on earlier I would have taken you up on it. It’s hot here and I’ve left the generator running. I’m sure I used 1/3 tank. During the day I step out and leave two ac units running and by evening I start the third one. Generator runs from 4-11pm.

I haven’t set a time to leave but it might be tomorrow evening or Wednesday at 4am.

Made it home yesterday. A wonderful trip overall. No issues and coach is parked in the new storage facility. I did stop at Newell for a night. Marie had a few surprises such as a visit to a local winery and Mission impossible movie experience with power reclining seats.
