It finally stopped raining enough here in Denver that I could test my Auto Fill water valve. As soon as the solenoid is turned on, the pump starts up and both shut off when full, but there is some excess overflow. I tried again with the valve closed at the bottom of the tank that normally supplies water to the pumps. This time both shut off when full, but no overflow. With the valve open, I assume the city water pressure is enough to add more water against the pressure from the weight of water in the tank.
