American Fleet Inc. Detroit Diesel Specialists
#1

Hello Everyone!

My name is Brian Stanton.  I am the Sales and Marketing Manager for American Fleet Inc.  We are a Detroit Diesel Engine Specialist located in Springfield Missouri.  We have been in the bus engine re-manufacturing business for over 35 years.  We are a entertainer and charter bus repair facility that only works on buses!  Our mechanics have been with the company for more than 20 years and are "seasoned" bus mechanics that know there way around a bus engine.

We build the engines (with Genuine Detroit Diesel parts) at our facility and ship nation wide.  We also offer installations at our facility as well.  We offer towing if a trusted mechanic is not available in your area.

We build each engine to your engine serial number and ship 3-4 days once we receive your order.  We are saving our clients an average of $8,000.00 to $10,000.00 per engine versus any local Detroit Diesel authorized shop.  We also carry Detroit 2 cycle engines as well.

Please checkout out our website link below, and visit us on Face Book for pictures from our daily builds for coach and charter bus companies that come to us for installation.  If anyone has questions, please feel free to contact me at your earliest convenience.

Thanks
Brian Stanton

I keep and ear tuned to the Prevost Community forum as there are similarities among our coaches.

American Fleet is a welcome presence there. They have offered advice on engine problems. Their shop has been visited by members and it was a great experience and they are highly recommended.

Obviously, I hope no one needs their services, but if you do it is one less thing to worry about in that very trying time . I could be nuts, but I think they showed up at the recent "know you Prevost" 3 day event at Jeff Rowe's East Tennessee Luxury Coach and raffled off a series 60. Sounds too good to be true, but that's what I heard . Russ

I hear that event at Jeffs was really really good. If he would do the same for us that would be a great guru rally.

I was in attendance at the seminar at Jeff's last weekend.  And the running joke was that I was there to raffle off a engine.  But in fact, I was there to reinforce that American Fleet is strictly a bus repair facility that only works on buses, and on top of all that, we produce a excellent product at the end of the day.

I am finding that the community of bus owners are getting taking advantage of when they have no other choice but to take there bus to a truck shop for service and repair.  Just yesterday, we have a customer that had the bull gear fail in his engine out in California.  The Freightliner shop wanted $18,000.00 to replace it.  We sold him one of our reman Detroit engines for almost the same price.   And with that, he gets a 2 year/ 200,000 mile warranty on the long block portion of the engine, free towing for the first year and free freight of the engine anywhere in the US.

Here's the best part, the dealer wanted $7,000.00 to install it!!  We called up a customer in Phoenix AZ that is a bus leasing/conversion company and they quoted our customer $3,000.00.  I then called our tow service to tow that bus out of L.A for $3,000.00.  So for what that shop wanted for install, we were able to get that bus to a shop that has BUS MECHANICS.  And believe me, its worth it to have a bus mechanic work on your bus versus a truck mechanic.  I am NOT saying anything bad about truck mechanics at all.  But they look at engines differently than a bus mechanic.  The main reason they probably quoted that much, is because they don't see that many bus engine installs, so its probably safer to quote high than to get into it and lose money.

Thanks

Hopefully Scott can take a look at this as I am having the same issues both in single and in multiple mode and it doesn’t let it go up. I get an ‘impossible to move’ error in multiple mode and a script error in single mode.
