My power steering has just failed completely. i have read on the forum that the C15 is prone to sheering of the power steering pump shaft, has anyone had experience of this? is it the pump side that fails or the gear that drives the pump, is it a big job to sort out!?

Yes, if it is the same as mine your cooling fan for the radiator will not work ether. I have C-15 Cat with 6 speed Allison.
I had to be towed to a repair facility and the pump had to be replaced 
. It took about 2 weeks to get the CORRECT pump.
They had to flush out the complete hydraulic system as metal filings came off the pump and shaft that turns the power steering and radiator fan pump. Ken Garris 2007 coach 816
