I received this info from Morgan at newell.
I have researched the numbers but don't find anything definitive.

Morgan didn’t do you any favors by assigning Newell part numbers to them. The description sounds correct for a Dana front end and Ridewell rear end suspensions. Remind us, steerable tag, yes or no. If you have steerable then you have ZF suspension, and I am not sure about the bags above.

Ask Morgan for the real part numbers. Not the nc numbers

I have had numerous issues with the "new" Newell parts department. Wrong part numbers, broken parts sent, incorrect information, no notification of the "special handling charge" and the list goes on. Having a single person, who is unfamiliar with Newell Coaches as the point person for customers is not a great idea.

I played the airbag shuffle when i first bough my latest coach. gave up and figured it out myself. ordered from a third party after much research and assistance from the manufacturers. There are some threads on newellgurus regarding my story.

If I can help, let me know.

Be seeing you,

If they are Firestone air springs, the identifying label is attached to the upper mounting surface--a paper label.  I removed one from each position to see what I needed to order.  I then ordered the rears from a third party.  Newell was the only one with the fronts in stock.

Newell puts their part number on them because they want to sell them. Some of the parts they sell are overinflated, but some are as inexpensive as you will find elsewhere.

When I had a Country Coach, it came with a folder of all manufacturers part numbers.  I believe Newell's "inability" to provide real part numbers and use of push in air fittings are their biggest shortcomings.

hi gurus,

i am fortunate enough to be able to call Karl Blade and talk about questions that I have. I talked to him a couple of times today about this.

there are a couple of things to comment on.

first.....they like to sell parts so their policy in general is not to give out oem part numbers. they assign NC (newell coach) part numbers to everything they sell.

second, they buy directly from their oems and dont in general shop around to get alternative sources. an example of that is the ZF suspension. in this case they just buy parts including airbags, directly from ZF. he doesnt know if they have alternative firestone or goodyear bags or not. they just order from zf.

it would be interesting to know if anyone has taken one off and seen if they are a zf part or firestone or goodyear. or someone else.

i also had a discussion with him about the handling charge that they tack on to everything. he is aware that is a sore point for us. dunno if anything will change about it or not. i would guess not, but at least he knows how we feel.

i will say that karl is easy to talk to and always willing to talk to me or answer a text.

he is also glad for the newellguru forum for helping out newell owners and i appreciate the encouragement that he and newell gives this forum.

so, the part number issue is not because morgan is doing it on his own, it is a newell policy.

later
