Shower exhaust fan

Mine is kaput. Has been since I bought the rig. You can hear the fan exterior lid motor doing its thing but it doesn't open the roof vent nor does the fan run. Anyone know if this is still made?

That is a Fantastic Fan. Many listings on a search for them.

If the motor is turning, then the coupler may be stripped.  The fan is not going to come on until the lid raises a way.  If the motor coupler is stripped replace the motor and the lift arm---can't buy just the coupler. Two screws and pull down to see the coupler.

These were the parts that fixed mine.

Several years ago I called Fantastic Fan with the list of parts I needed for my old fan. The nice lady I talked to said based on the number of parts I needed that it would be best to send my fan in for refurbish at no cost!!!! I sent it in and they sent me a new fan. F Fan has been bought out by Dometic ( I think). That bit of true customer love may have been discontinued but it would be worth a call.

I did order a motor and control arm separately and replaced them both. The motor was bad from the vendor so I put the old motor back in. It failed a month or so later so I replaced the entire mid-ship fan assembly.

There isn't access from within the coach and the control switches are in the 1/2 bath and kitchen.
I removed the wires from the open/close switch on the fan and hooked them to the small wires from the control switches (figured I had a 50% chance of getting these right). The 12v/ground larger wires were hooked up the same as before. I cranked the temp knob all the way to the cool side.
Everything works as expected now.

Thanks guys. I just coughed up the $350 somewhat dollars for a new one. I hate going back to something later so just swap the whole thing out.

Has anyone contacted Fantastic Fan/Dometic about warranty issues on our fans? I had talked to them before the merger and they sent me some parts under warranty (fan was original to the coach)…

Thanks Hank, I will keep that in mind. For now, I have so many, many, many, many little projects going on at once. My rig is like one giant A.D.D. disaster happening. Perhaps it is the owner thats a disaster? Anyway, I'll get through it! Need to pull captain and copilot chairs, sofa bed and anything tied to the floor in preparation for my tile guy to do the LVP flooring in a couple weeks.

It has been a few years, maybe 5 or so, and I had a Fantastic Fan quit in my last coach. I was the original Coach owner. I don't know if that mattered that much, but I called and said mine didn't work. Fantastic Fan sent me a new one. The coach was 15 years old or so. Fantastic customer service from Fantastic Fan. I would hope that kind of service more popular in this industry
