Air leveling fully down?
#1

Does it hurt the airbags, or anything else, to lower the coach all the way down, to its lowest point, for long periods of time?  I would love for the step out to be lower for my aging dog but wasn’t sure if it would hurt the bags to be fully compressed for months at a time.

They can crease and cause rub through. Perhaps a small step stool for the dog would help?

I drop mine on the ground evrytime we store it or go camping. Havent seen any cracking or issues yet. and that helps my wife not fall out of it as well.

Thanks.  So you haven’t seen any excess wear on the airbags or anything else, or any rubbing by the tires?  How long have you done it for at any given time?

The only thing I would add is that on 316 when I fully deflated the bags the rear tires would rest on the fender openings before bump stops touched. My coach was an early adapter to the 24.5” tires which contributed to the issue. The remedy was to weld in longer bump stops.

I like the idea of adding more bump stop… I’ll add it to my list while I have the wheels off - not that it will get done but it will be on the list!

The continental airbags have a taller bump stop in them. Just FYI

Reminds me I need to add some stops to the rear of mine, noticed it does sit down on the tires when its aired all the way down. I know that Simon had posted something about how he added a bump stop, I will have to look under there and see what makes the best sense for adding a bump stop.

Some air bellows have bump stops built in. My new bags didn’t.
