Tandem circuit breaker issue
#1
Question

Today a tandem circuit breaker in our coach that operates the stove kept on shutting off. Not sure what else it runs if anything. Menards only carries 15 or 20 amp pairs. The guy there thought I may need 30 amp though since its a stove.

First off can these go bad? We have used the stove before with no issues. Second any suggestions as to amps? It does not say on the breaker what amp it is. Need to get this fixed though for this coming weekend. Thanks guys.

hi todd,

a few things. a breaker blowing is only caused by a few things. a weak breaker or a short in the system somewhere.

a weak breaker can happen, but is fairly rare. i have replaced 220 breakers where the contacts have burned up inside.

does it do it with any of the elements on the stove or just one of them. that would isolate it.

then check connections.

a breaker is a cheap try, as for what amperage, cant tell you. it depends on the stove you have.

isolate it into chunks and see when it stops tripping the breaker.
