Hello all,

Looking for a used base plate for a 1998-2005 VW Beetle Hatchback

There are 3 manufacturers that make them:
- 9518071 Demco
- BX3815 by Blue Ox
- 521225-1 by Roadmaster

If anybody has one laying around and not being used or on a vehicle that is no longer towed and wants to take it off for some extra cash, please let me know. Thanks.

Hi y'all,
We're Roscoe & Geni Snoeberger,
We retired a little early (59) to find adventure on the road! I was a local Government water/wastewater, operator/inpector. My wife an NASA accounting specialist. We have been fulltiming  now for 2 years and have really enjoyed it so far! You can check is out on our blog http://wanderingwilburys.blogspot.com

We currently have a 2015 25' ultra lite travel trailer made by forest river, towed by a 2015 Chevy Silverado. We met Clarke and Elaine Hockwald http://whatsnewell.blogspot.com working with them in 2017 at Yellowstone National park, they own a Classic Newell in fact a photo of theirs is on your header page. (Top right). That's where we were introduced to NEWELL, had never heard of it before then. Have been in many other so-called high end coaches but they never matched the quality of a Newell.

Well we are slowly looking for the right classic Newell coach. This web site is a wealth of information and history of NEWELL coaches. Thank you!

while trying to work on 469 I noticed the 110 was off. After plugging into the 110 outlet polarity light was on have never seen this before. Do I have a problem the volt gauge seemed normal. One other thing is where we plug in is 110 with ground fault so we had to remove ground prong . It has been this way for a year. Thanks Joe

Hi, we have a older Newell (635) on our lot in Gulfwaters Rv Resort in Port Aransas Tx. Normally we get a few Newell’s visiting here in the winter, but now we have three newer ones here along with mine. I haven’t had a chance to talk with any of them yet, if I do and they don’t mind I’ll let you know their coach numbers and maybe pictures.

NEWELL COACH #800 ASKING PRICE REDUCED FROM $365,000 TO $342,500 AND NEW BATTERIES INSTALLED AT NEWELL ON 6-25-19
This 45’ 2007 mid-entry Newell Coach is the best value for a used Newell Coach that you could possibly find.  This coach has just under 69,000 miles.  It is one of the first P2000i body designs and even today is often mistaken for a 3 or 4 year old coach.  It has been garaged and waxed once a year giving it a near new look.  It has three slides, a desk unit in the salon area, and the interior is “smoke free”.

What makes this coach such a great value?  It was purchased from the Newell factory in August of 2014 with 34,000 miles.  It came with a two year warranty, and given that we live only 206 miles from the Newell factory, we took advantage of the short drive and managed to repair anything that needed it.  Since that time, all routine maintenance to fix things as well as all preventive maintenance has been performed by Newell at the factory. I am an engineer.  I like things working!

Compare this coach to any of similar age and you’ll find it has the following features the others don’t have:
High Definition DirecTv rooftop antenna with automatic seek  ($3,300)
All new HD televisions and audio/visual systems throughout coach
DirecTv Genie System (DVR) in salon plus mini-Genies in bedroom and outside bay
Road King Shocks installed  (what a difference in ride)  $5,400
Easy Steer installed (no more fighting those bad cross winds)  $6,200
20KW Martin Generator  (behind front end cap)
Brand new front tires (w 365 upgrade)
All new LED aisle and valence lights throughout interior.

The coach has a central vacuum system, stacked  washer and dryer; Forward television in the Salon plus a small wall mounted one in the galley; one TV in the Bedroom, and an outdoor entertainment unit with an HD television and sound system.  Coach has residential refrigerator with “in-door” ice maker.  Obviously, it has all the other bells and whistles you expect in a Newell Coach.  For more details, the original “order sheet” is available.

Asking $395,000 or MAKE AN OFFER!  PRICE REDUCED TO $365,000    OTHER INCENTIVES OFFERED

You owe it to yourself to call and talk about this fantastic coach.  I am willing to work with you on this coach.  For more information, contact Dick Yuhnke at 714-357-7025 (CDT/leave message if no answer) OR email me directly at [email protected].

All,
I sanitized the fresh water tank  during the week. I have some questions about the Autofill and an empty fresh water tank. If the fresh water tank is empty does the Autofill automatically start? If the fresh water tank is empty and the water pump gets turned on for 2 minutes does the Autofill start? Will the water pump get damaged if it was on briefly (less than 2 minutes) with an empty fresh water tank? I have noticed the last two times that I have hooked up the fresh water hose to city water that the Autofill will automatically activated and fill the tank. Do I have a problem?
I appreciate any information that you are willing to share. Thank you in advance for your comments.

Thanks to Bill Johnson, Steve Bare, and Tommy Key for helping me find the solution and post this for anyone else that might have the same issue.

Recently, after a drive on rough roads, one of my electric blinds would not go up or down even though I could hear the motor turning. Bill Johnson advised me the friction connection between the motor and tube failed. He pointed me to Tommy Key at Newell for precise instructions on how to fix. A total of $0.09 cents for a screw.

From Tommy Key at Newell:
To repair your shade have the shade in down position, measure 10  1/2 " from end of right side motor. Drill 1/8" hole through aluminum tube and through plastic until you hit aluminum tube again. Install # 8 pan head screw  5/8" to 3/4"  long. If up and down limits aren't set correct after repairing motor push the yellow and black limit buttons on the right side to release them. Run shade up to desired height then reset yellow button, then run shade down to desired length and reset black button.

Worked perfectly for me!

I am looking to improve the water manifold on our 1984 classic. It is constructed from some type of water block, in conjunction with Home Depot ball valves that all leak externally to some extent. This results in the coach water pump cycling  after changing state of the valves. In addition, it is easy to forget the multiple valve changes needed to go from city to on board water , or to fill the tank.

All suggestions and photos are welcome  Angry
