I have coach 599. My 110 air compressor is giving me problems. When outside temps are cold, the compressor will not build pressure; it will run constantly. Any ideas?

Also, my 12v compressor will not kick on at all. In fact, I don't even know where it's located?

Thanks in advance.
Bryan

Drove out of Shendoah River State Park this morning and noticed right away that my tach was bouncing back and forth between 0 and max with "test" on the LCD display just like it normally does when I start the engine. Except it literally did this all day long. Tach is correct on the VMSpc so I suspect something between dash and rear. It worked when we pulled in 5 days prior. Of note, I did have the dash off when parked for the week to mount the VMSpc tablet but I never had my hands anywhere near the instrument cluster. Does the tach connect all the way to the rear? Or does it go to the Allison computer under the driver?

I need some help, yesterday I wanted to replace an air strut that was not holding up really well and while trying to remove the old air strut I noticed that the "hardware" holding the little round peg, were the air strut end attaches to, was bolted to a piece of wood and that piece of wood was hold in place with 6 screws that go into the metal on the side of the wall. This is not very effective as the force that the air strut applies is very strong so I want to know how's done in newer units and I can mimic that if not I'll need to find a way to make it better.

Attached are pictures of what I have now (one with the wooden block installed and the other one with the wooden block removed)

Went out to get into my coach today and the 110 compressor was running and there wasn’t enough air to open the door. I then realized it had been running for quite a while, the gauge was only showing 20psi so I switched to the other compressor, same thing, couldn’t build more than 20psi. I shut it and couldn’t hear any leaks, pressure seemed to hold at 20. I restarted and again doesn’t want to past 20psi with either compressor. Any ideas what could be causing it?

We arrived at Lone Rock Beach, UT (on the shores of Lake Powell) around 2:30 pm on October 25th.....within 20 minutes this 2002 Newell (2 slides) arrived and parked about 100 feet from us......

We both noticed the other almost immediately and I walked over to meet Mussy (sp?).  He says he is a member of this forum, but I did not ask his username.  I'll talk to him again....he'll be here 4 days.

I am on 44 west bound about 11 miles west of Vinita ok. Lost air. Can air up ok with emergency brake on but if I apply brakes or release emergency brakes all air drains pretty quick.
Have roadside service coming.

Hi, we have a  2002 45 quad slide and I can’t get any slides to operate (HWH slides). The lights work, ie. blinking yellow then solid yellow, when I push retract or extend the red light comes on, but no movement in or out. (I have one slide in, as it worked last week to check batteries). The slide seals are not deflating, so I think there must be a safety switch that won’t allow the slides to work. I’ve checked the fuses in the six clear face HWH boxes and the ones in passenger floorboard.
I’ve been on the phone with Mike and Mark at Newell, and tried HWH (2 weeks before they will call me back, the lady suggested I manually close them!)
I’m thinking about removing the air lines to the seals, retracting the slides then reinflating them. Would that hurt anything?
We’re supposed to leave for Texas Saturday for month, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks Randy

I have a bunch of questions for you if your interested! Anyone's input is welcome.

Over the last couple years I have installed around 200 full hook ups for a local RV park in Amana Iowa.  There going to put in about 50 more full hook ups on current electric sites to meet rally requests.  The park was designed as a Farm Progress Show site in the 90's, the RV park was a after thought when the bid was lost for the Farm Progress Show in the late 2000's.  It is not a park with mountain views or desert landscapes with few trees but the new manager has the same ideas and visions I have.  She wants to make it a beautiful destination not just a overnight parking area.  Trees are being planted and this is the first major design influence since the park was created.  It dose not compare to where the Newell Rallies are held for breathtaking views but it has beautiful Iowa surroundings and very nice bike trails with the Amana Colonies a half mile away.

The exciting part is they have 18 acres of virgin ground to develop and they want a couple proposals for premium sites from me.  I know that 50 amp hook ups are a must with water and septic.  What other things are desired.  The current sites are back in with a few pull through.  The new ones will all be pull through.  Most around here are around 100 feet long.  What is a standard length and are the utilities located in the middle normally?  There don't seem to be many standards out there that I can find.

Have you ever used roundabout pull through sites?  They would like to see one proposal using some of them. I have seen them but never used them.  What are your thoughts?

The other two proposals will be straight sites and angle parking sites.  Keeping in mind that the more sites the more appealing the development is for funding and generating revenue.  I need to find the happy medium.

Ok go for it, what do you think?

Thanks,
Roy.

Our Newell has only one tank to empty and it is great not having to mess around emptying a black and a grey tanks.  Why are not more motor coach makers not using just one waste tank instead of having a separate grey and black?

With all the stringent pollution rules nowadays there are very few places you can dump grey on the ground so that argument is pretty null.  Our Newell does have a grey bypass but have never used it and do not plan to.

Just curious as to why manufacturers do not implement one waste tank.  Figured one of the many smart folk out there would have the answer for me.

Thanks,
Oscar

On Wednesday October 18th my family and I are official Newell owners! I flew to California to meet Ron and Susan over there, went through the entire coach and decided to drive it back to Sarasota, FL. Yeah, that was 2475 miles home.....as a first time driver of an RV or a Diesel engine, ever. Except downtown Phoenix (AZ), but mostly Houston (TX), everything else went absolutely great, I don't like downtown traffic at all!.

I've been learning to drive it, how it responded (I've been sweating my whole drive home). I was particularly impressed during the mountain passes over Texas (from Fredericksburg to San Antonio) as there were some nice inclines but didn't have a single issue with them.

I left Palm Springs on Wednesday 18th at 6:30PM(PST) and arrived home on Saturday 21st at 12:00PM (EST) all in all, loved it. rested and fueled diesel a couple of times (didn't want to fill up because I was concerned that a full tank(weight wise) will be an issue while climbing mountains! Also, I was concerned with the engine overheating (no history of it as far as I know) but after being stuck in heavy traffic in a few places and climbing lake Charles bridge at a speed of 10-20 miles per hour and absolutely no signs of overheating left me with a happy feeling I can't describe Smile, it never reached 190f 90% of the time the needle was stuck at the middle position of the gauge, 170f perhaps?)

So I've been stripping some things already as we want to modernize the interior a little bit (new flooring, new curtains, new wallpaper, etc.)

Really happy and excited about what is to come with an RV in the family!!!
