I had long wondered where the air for the step slide and pocket doors came from, now I know. Just in front of the supply tank near the drive axle is a valving setup that allows separation of the air for suspension from the air for all the other non-brake uses. Air going to the suspension is routed through the valve connected to the blue tubing and the air for the other uses is routed through red tubing. The red tubing valve has a tee with the 3/8" red tubing coming out of one side and a 1/4" black tubing coming out of the other side. that tubing heads forward to the rear bulkhead of pass-through compartment where it splits at a tee. One side goes to the valve for the slide, the valve is mounted on the same bulkhead. The other side of the tee goes back rearward to the pocket doors.

BTW, those two systems have separate pressure gauges so when both ball valves are shut off you can tell which system has the leak by watching the pressures drop. At least that's how my coach is set up.

Having figured this out, the only thing left is to figure out which ports on the front distribution block where. Someday, perhaps I'll spend a few hours sorting that out just in case I have a future problem to solve.

By using a dual thermocouple temperature monitor I was able to learn a couple things about the dash heat in my 93 coach.

On a 40 degree outside temperature day the heater produced about a 40 degree rise when the blower was on low and a bout a 50 rise when on high. That was strange since if the heater core was limiting the heat those temperature rises would be reversed. It turns out that my air-rest vents are pulling air in and not pushing air out unless the fan for those is turned on high and then the output is pretty anemic. I'll have to tear into the heater box to find out how that is possible but it explains some of my limited dash heat. When I taped over those outlets, the temperature rose by another 10 degrees.

The other thing I learned is that the solenoid at the coolant boost pump is needed or the heat is always somewhat on. I had removed mine to determine if it was limiting my dash heat, it wasn't though it did allow the "vent" setting air to warm 10 degrees even with the lever on the heater control to be all the way to the cold side.

Long story short, it was a long story, on the second day of my trip to Memphis my supply tank pressure started dropping and kicked the engine air compressor on about every 6-8 minutes, far more frequently than it had been. I isolated the leak to the uses downstream from the ball valve that isolates the front air distribution block. I finally eliminated the leak by cycling the step cover. Since the cover had not moved in the 3 years I've owned the coach that may have allowed some seals to take a leaking set. I will need to cycle all the air driven stuff now and again to keep the seals functional. Just thought I'd pass on a weird experience.

We left WI Friday night after work, caught some sleep at the Pilot south of St. Louis then drove through a few monsoon rainstorms in MO and MS.
Headwinds / crosswinds all the way, 1002 miles, 70 mph cruise, almost 8 mpg.

We're spending the week at Fountainbleu State Park in LA.
Our site has full hookups so I spent some time yesterday after we arrived de-winterizing.

Sunny and in the 80's today, a nice change from the Midwest spring.
