I can't say it any better than Cindy did:

This is wishing everyone a very Blessed Christmas. May everyone who is traveling have a safe trip. Those with family have a wonderful time together. Those of you far from home, know that you are in the hearts of all of your loved ones.

I am thinking of installing a full sine wave inverter charger. Xantrex, Magnum, and outback now offer versions that do not have a float segment to charge cycle as the LiPo batteries prefer.

Do you have a preference in brand?

Assume temp is below 30 degrees, I think I remember reading that diesel aquahot can burn a gallon an hour. That's about the same as the generator. Would it not be better just to run the generator..

I'm still here at Cabin Diesel, and it looks like I may be here for some time. The hydraulic pump that runs the two radiator fans is a Haldex 1800465 which has a shaft that is 1.5" long. Concentric makes the pump, and that shaft and gear is a proprietary one, which means that it can be a long time for a replacement. One member of the Foretravel forum has suggested that maybe we ought to do a group buy, direct from Concentric. If any of you used this pump please respond to this post, email me or PM me. At this point I'm just trying to find out whether this part is limited to just coaches like mine or whether others use it, too.

I know that everyone is busy for the next few days, and checking forums sometimes has to be delayed. I'll check in as I can.

i know this is not related to our newells, but something magical happened to darlene and i sunday nite that i just had to share. I know we all have a vareity of beliefs and faiths, but i beleive we all share in the good feelings that come in the holiday seasons.

some of you know our family. i hope all of you can someday. we have 4 wonderful kids, one of which is our webmaster.

all of our kids are grown and have been gone from home for some time. our oldest two live in the phoenix area, and our daughter and her family having moved about 1/4 mile from us this year.

scott has lived in dayton ohio and is a 1st lt in the air force. a few months ago he was stationed at nellis in las vegas and just bought a home there, so he is a hop skip and a jump from us now.

our oldest lives about 80 miles from us at the other end of the metro area.

but....the baby, our daughter lives in singapore. we sent her to college in singapore for a while (i used to go there on business quite a bit) and she loved it there. so when she graduated from ASU she moved to jakarta indonesia for a year, then she backpacked across southeast asia for a few months this summer and then took a job in singapore.

now....santa claus. and the miracle of christmas holidays.

we had an amazing surprise last nite. our son who lives in vegas had planned a family dinner at exactly 6pm last nite as he was arriving from vegas then.

he never does that. so we were wondering what was up.

right after he arrived our daughter called us on viber (internet phone) from singapore. we were sad she couldnt be with us for christmas and it was nice to talk to her and we knew she would be home in feb for chinese new year.

then my oldest daughter (we were at her house behind ours for dinner) said a really scary looking santa claus was coming down the little private road to their house. then a short scrawny santa claus came in the house and just kinda stood there. santa didnt say anything and just stood in front of me for a couple of minutes. i had no idea who it was and after the grandkids had danced around santa for a little while i just said "who are you". then santa took the beard off and it was our daughter from singapore. she had totally surprised me and i thought i had just talked to her in singapore. i hugged her and cried for a few minutes i must admit. i am a softee for my kids.

scott had been in on it and our daughter had flown into las vegas from singapore and scott picked her up at the airport and came directly to wittmann. quite a cultural shock from singapore to wittmann. ha

that is our santa claus miracle and i hope all of you have as magical of holidays as we have had so far. this will be a christmas i will never forgot.

tom and darlene

howdy all,

a few people have said they have had problems accessing the forum with page time outs and longer than usual page loading times.

we are not experts on this and are doing our best to make the forum a great experience for all.

we are trying to analyze the mountain of performance data that our web hosting company provides us.

scott did make some changes that we think has improved page loading times and made the site a little faster.

we would welcome your comments. the forum is getting quite a lot of action in terms of people accessing it.

we are also starting to be grow in storage space. i have just put a limit on the size of pictures you can upload to the forum. 1 mb is the new limit. before it had no limit and now that we have thousands of pictures it is consuming web space and bandwidth as they are accessed.

we will keep looking to see if there is something else we need to do for hosting the forum.

if you see improved responsiveness, please feel free to let us know. likewise if you have any problems, let us know

frequently people have trouble logging in. that is usually because you cant remember your password, or you changed it and your cookies are remembering the old password. in those cases, you can request a new password on the login page. we can also reset it for you if you have problems.

feel free to email us at [email protected] if you need help or contact me or any of the moderators/admins and any one of us will do all that we can to help you.

be patient with us, as newellgurus continues to grow, we are learning how to deal with it from a forum perspective.

we never claimed to be pros at this. just have a strong desire to have fun with it.

thanks

tom and scott

Went up on the roof to clean the solar panels (we're dry camping right now and need them to be 100% efficient) and noticed that while driving here from Lone Pine yesterday that the sewer vent cap had 'gone with the wind'. It is a 2.5" diameter pipe. Any sources for replacements?

Looking for the guts to the GM truck cargo lamps 5965873. Any universal socket in auto parts stores wont fit as they all today are sized differently and you just can't cut up the housing to make it fit. I tried two .... I did retro fit others parts together but would like to replace them all and replace all my gaskets as well which I already have.... Any one have a source ? Do not want to convert to LED ?
