Tell us about yourself, after all we have to interview you before you get the secret handshake and decoder ring.

Seriously, the more we know the better we can help you. For example have you owned a motor coach before, what is your intended use, what is your timeframe, describe your mechanical and electrical comfort, what do you expect to get with a 20 yr old Newell different from a 10 yr old Newmar different than a New Thor. Silly way of putting it, but you get the point.

I second the suggestion to pour over the section of already addressed topics on what to consider when buying a used Newell.

Hi Richard,

LOL thank you,  well myself and my significant other are travel Healthcare workers and thus far we have been city dwellers and enjoying our lives and usually camp every weekend while visiting various national and state parks!

We were getting ready to purchase our first 5th wheel when we noticed motorhomes have become much more affordable post pandemic and after seeing many different brands of both 5th wheels and motorhomes and doing research we see why the motorhomes are worth more with a much better build quality and typically better materials being used such as steel or aluminum framing vs wood, much more capable diesel motors, ect.

I do all my own repair work from our vehicles to at home stuff, I feel confident in using a volt meter to track down electric issues, I've rebuilt many inline 4 motors, recharge a/c systems of various styles. Both my father and grandfather are engineers so I am good at diagnosing issues even if the repair is beyond my skill.

Our intention with this motorhome is to use for a big trip from Utah to Texas/Florida area this fall about a month long and using it on weekends. Next spring we have a rv spot at a family members to park till may to do our first contract living in the rv and then we want to go do a few contracts in more remote areas of Idaho, Montana and possibly out east.

I like the idea of the Newell having larger fuel tanks/ water and waste tanks than the comparable beaver/monacos we are seeing,  I like the use of pneumatic bladders on the slides and front door, it seems many other owners like the way these machines were made in these vintage years as they were very easy to work on and diagnose issues while also having an easier time getting parts in many cases.

Thank you again for the warm welcome, if we purchase this motorhome we plan to come to a many group meets as our schedule allows!

One last thing the dealer made it clear he had no service records at all on the motorhome and advised me to call Newell and check with them. Can I just call the direct line in their website or should I call a service center?
