If the locksmith strikes out and you have a fantastic Fan it can be removed from the outside. I think I'd risk busting a roof vent up before I take a windshield out. Especially if the vent fans are a few years old. Just replace with a new Fan. Of course I'd have to find a skinny kid to send in through the 14" by 14" hole.
