today richard and i took the failed solenoid valve apart that caused my passenger side rear to overextend.
you can see in the first picture that the rubber seat of the plunger had ruptured.
so very easy to see what the failure was.
this is one of 3 different valves that has been used on these six packs. the oldest like was on my 90 was a KIP, the RAP1940 from hwh is another and then hwh used a valve from Deltrol for a while as well.
strangely enough, the older kip valves were a slightly larger orfice. the hwh and deltrol were both 3/32. we measured them as we had examples of all three tore apart today.
the seat on the deltrol (which this one is) is a round o ringish type. the other two kinds were a sold seat.
