In the early 1990's the 'standard' headroom was 76". My 1992 has a 4" raised roof so it has 80" of headroom and also has a ceiling fan in the bedroom. When the Series 60 was introduced in the middle of the 1994 model year, the rear floor had to be raised since the inline 6 was taller than the 8V92. This resulted in a lower headroom in the rear walk in closet. To increase the rear headroom, in 1995, Newell introduced the hump which not only added headroom to the rear closet but to the bedroom. By 1996 some of the coaches had the raised roof expanded to cover about 50%-60% of the length of the coach. and in some models most of the remainder of the coach with the exception of the front several feet. By 1997 many of the Newells had the entire roof raised and by 1998 virtually of Newells had the taller interior ceiling. I don't have any information in my files on the exact ceiling height on the 1998's but I suspect it is at least 84"-86" with the exception of the rear closet or in some cases, the rear bath. I am only aware of a few 1998 and 1999's that had the partially raised roof. 2000 and 2003 saw a resurgence of the partial raised roof. By 2004 almost all had the raised roof extending from just behind the drivers seat to the rear of the coach.
