Blowout!

Steve, sounds like your tires are just aging out......6.5 years is pretty much the outer edge of tire life for anything but a Michelin. 85 PSI sounds a little low for your drive tires......

Clarke,
Check your VIN Tag...mine states 85psi so that is what I run.
PS These Goodyears have a 7 year warranty but I don't have the casing anymore so not sure I can collect.

On my 77 coach the 85psi I used was based on coach weight, there was no tag noting pressure, and at 85psi there was plenty of reserve weight. One problem with this pressue was the regular need to add air, presumably from leakage at the beads as the leakage rate decreased when I raised the pressue 20psi.

I not sure but I am running 22.5.  The drive axle  are 315 and the steer and tag are 365 and all are 22.5 and I think your are probably 24. I would definitely take the Michelin over the B/S. I think mine are 16 ply and I have never had a problem with Michelin's. Have a great day!

My front tire and tag are XZA and are 365's on 22.5 rims. My drive are XZA2 and are 315 on 22.5 rims.

Ron, Thanks for getting back to me on this.
We have 11R22.5 Tires & they are/were G rated. I am looking to have the XZA3+ Evertread installed & by the chart this is the one that is recommended for my tire size & RV use in all positions. If I choose the Bridgestones the comparable would be the R283 Ecopia. I would rather have the Michelins but the closest place is almost 2 hours away & I am on a loaned tire & wheel. It would be 3 hours from Palm Desert where I could be a little picky but then a long distance on a desert hwy.
PS the date code on my tires is 362008 or September 2008 & were put on in January 2009. They had a 7 year warranty & I was scheduling their replacement 1st part of next year...curious how that one came apart within months of the 7 year window!

Don't forget about the FMCA Michelin Advantage Program. It is well worth it and should also save you over $1,200 for 6.
