What is this? In the AH bay
#1

There is air coming out of this when I turn on my 110v compressor (probably my 12-volt too but didn’t test it).  It looks like the air is coming out of the nut/outlet nearest the outside of the coach (left side?).

Thanks Steve and Tom!
You think the valve is bad and leaking? I checked the connections and they seem tight? It sounds like the air is coming out of the tubing/compression fitting but it’s hard to tell.

There is a rebuild kit, or you can purchase the whole assembly. I will try to find my documentation

Thanks Mike, I think I’m just going to do like Tom suggested and disconnect it. Although I do have a macerator at home and that might be a good spot to put it in.

Adrian, the most common failure is that the spool that shuttles back and forth in the valve starts to leak by. This is the type of shuttle valve that keeps pressure at all times on the cylinder. So when in closed position air pressure is applied to the dump valve to keep it closed, and the opposite is true.

I am commenting for posterity, so that when one is chasing air leaks in this setup, be aware that the spool in the valve body is the most common leak, BUT the orings in the cylinder can also leak.

You asked what this device is for. As I understand it the device softens the action of the air cylinders they open and close the sewer valves. The one in the AH bay assists the sewer valve to the curb side outlet. It is a knuckle buster to replace the one in the street side water bay. I had to replace mine.
