My electrical gauges don't seem to be reading L1 and L2 correctly, see attached photo. I have the coach plugged into a 240V 50amp power and the the Surge Protector/Power Management System show both L1 & L2 getting 120V and 50amps with no errors. However my gauges in the coach don't light up L2 or show the proper voltage. Everything seems to be working, but this has been a constant since I purchase the coach a few years ago. I put six new AGM house batteries in last year. Any suggestions as to why?
Thanks,
Jerry
Tomorrow I'm having new drive tires put on my coach. One of the ride height valves has been giving me intermittent issues, so my plan is to replace it when the tire shop has the tires off. At the moment, I don't know what valve I need, so I'll have to quickly remove it after the tires come off, look for a part number, and start calling my local Napas to see if they have it.
However, my big plan goes down the tubes if I can't readily find the valve, and go get it before they need to put the tires back on and get my coach out of their shop. Does anyone happen to have a part number for this? Drive tire valve, coach #485.
Thanks,
Alan
Cindy and I heading back from a weekend at Hartwell Lake to our home in Columbia, SC yesterday, west bound on I-26 and spotted a Newell Classic in the east bound lane. Don't have a clue on the year of the Coach but it sure looked good cruising down the freeway.

I read a thread where determining rear end ratio by knowing the rpm divided by revolution of the tires = gear ratio. So I do the math (3100/470=6.59) and the answer is definitely wrong. So obviously my tachometer is not programmed correctly... (electronic with dip switches) I have a Cat 3208T with an Allison 750 tranny. The PO repowered from a 555 and left the existing radiator and transmission with 11r22.5 tires ... I know lockup in 5th gear is 1:1 and the engine should be kept at about 2800 or below. If I do the math it seems to be reporting about 75% above actual (measured speed with gps).
My question is does anyone know what manufacturer and rear end ratio they put in the late 70s early 80s single axle classic coaches build date Oct/79? Thanks in advance.
Last fall we had a Wiring short/fire in our coach
Our insurance carrier agreed to pay a portion of the repair cost
We drove the coach to Newell. After months of waiting and several phone
Calls, we got the good news....it’s ready to come home.
BUT wait they could NOT make the generator gen
Now what..... wait...I know a guru who knows this stuff
I contacted Gordon and asked for his advice. Gordon said if it was in
Ohio he could make it work.
So off we went to Ohio and Gordon’s shop ! Gordon has everything needed to make
All types of gen sets. As a old trucker I love well equipped shops. Gordon has one.
Gordon gave me a quick tutorial on my gen set and turned to tracing my issue
After a long day my gen set lives
Thank for everything Gordon[amoff][/amoff][amoff][/amoff]

I'm going to take a look at this coach next week. Seems fairly priced for year and mileage. Original owner and appears to be well kept. Any thoughts or advice on Newell's from that time period?
Thanks,
Rob

2004 Newell
Decent price, earliest turning tag axle, lots of upkeep.
I have known Morris for many years. Andrew Steele interviewed him while he was at Newell getting his 2007 serviced.

I have a water seperator on my 1984 Classic and wanted to replace the plastic bowl on the Conmet that was cracked so I made a new bottom. I used some metal and tapped a new plug on the bottom and used a plasma cutting table to make perfect circle.
Anyone know of a source for the rubber gasket that seals the pop-up ceiling windows? Newell says they don't have them.
